What are hex nuts?
Hex nuts are six sided general purpose nut with internal screw threads. Hex nuts are one of the most common hexagonal fastener with internal threads that screws on to the shank of a hex head cap screw or other bolts. Hex jam nuts, heavy hex nuts, and lock nuts are just a few types of hex nuts we carry.
How do you screw in a hex nut?
Hex bolts are installed by turning a nut to tighten the fastener. Hex cap screws are installed into tapped holes by turning the head to assemble and tighten.
How do you identify a hex nut?
Nuts fabricated by cutting from hex bar stock shall be grade marked with notches at the hexagon corners, one notch at each comer for Grade 5, two notches at each corner for Grade 8. Grade 2 nuts are not required to be marked for grade identification.

Where can you use hex bolts?
Hex bolts can be used for many different applications that include fastening wood, steel, and other construction materials for projects such as docks, bridges, highway structures, and buildings. Hex bolts with forged heads are also commonly used as headed anchor bolts.
